I express through my canvas.

I am an artist residing in Bengaluru, India. I have made paintings since I was three. I sold my first hand-painted work at school at the age of ten, and sold further original works to art stores during my college years in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where I was born. Then life happened, and for more than twenty years I did not paint at all.

Emancipation brought my canvas back to me. It led me to discover myself and find my place in the world. I feel rewarded in unimaginable ways, and I’m grateful to be alive, experience and share the entire spectrum of human experience.

I work across all mediums — watercolour, acrylic, oils, and dry mediums including pastels, charcoal and graphite. I paint from life, from photographs and en plein air.

Fundamentally, I seek beauty. In a building, a dried flower, a stranded planet twenty light-years away. My best works flow when I’m possessed by beauty that breaks free of what holds it back — like the beauty in a child’s unfiltered joy when her face cracks into a broad smile the second she spots her mother at the school-gate.

I guess I control my creative process as well as a tuning fork controls the note that makes it ring. It doesn’t choose to resonate — it simply cannot help it, when the right note arrives. That’s my process. I pay attention, and beauty finds its way to me.

I believe that life is a work of art in itself. My works belong to no technique or schools of thinking of art. I paint to express and share my life.
